Pegi Cecconi Death Notice – With sorrowful hearts, we bid farewell to our friend and colleague Pegi Cecconi, who was a long-time member of the Rush “family” and Vice President of SRO/Anthem. We are bidding our goodbyes to everyone with heavy hearts. Pegi’s passionate advocacy, straight-shooting directness, and famed wit and humor left an unforgettable impression not only on all of us at ole/Anthem, but on everyone else in the music industry.
Her legacy will live on eternity. Pegi’s outstanding impact demonstrates that she was a true pioneer in her area. Without her, the world we live in will be a very different place. Pegi, I pray that you find peace. Your presence will be deeply missed by everyone. Cecconi began her music career as a teenager in the 1970s, working in Toronto with Rush manager Ray Danniels. This venture took place when she was a teenager.
In succeeding years, she served as Vice President of SRO Management Inc. and Vice President of Anthem Entertainment Group, an independent record company. She held these posts for the majority of the remainder of her career. Rush owned and operated their publishing company from 1974 until his death in 2014. The company was later acquired by ole, which is now known as Anthem Entertainment, and Cecconi remained a consultant to the organization following the acquisition.
She received the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award in 2021, as part of the 50th Annual JUNO Awards. This prize was presented to her in celebration of her outstanding achievements. Cecconi has played an important role in Rush’s management agency and record label for the past 50 years. He has occupied a variety of positions, allowing him to make significant contributions to the band’s growth and eventual success.
There was a brief acceptance speech, a biographical film, and interviews with Rush members Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee, Rush manager Ray Danniels, and others.
