It has been reported by the Anne Arundel County Police Department that a woman is currently in critical condition as a result of an officer-involved shooting that took place in Pasadena on Thursday afternoon. On Thursday afternoon, at around 1:34 p.m., the Anne Arundel County Police Department got a call about a person who was armed with a pistol and suicidal.
The individual was located inside of a property that was situated in the 8600 block of Gambier Harbor. Justin Mulcahy, who serves as the Director of External Affairs for the department, was the one who shared this information with us.
When the cops arrived, they were also informed that there was a cat that had been shot and killed inside of that residence. This information was provided to them at the time of their arrival. Almost immediately after their arrival, the officers set up a cordon around the area.
She was a woman who was 61 years old when she left the residence. The individual was leaving the residence. Although the officers made an effort to provide verbal directives, the woman managed to escape back into the flat as they were attempting to impose them.
After a period of time had passed, the woman came from the house, and this time she was carrying a weapon with her. During the time that the cops were continuing to give her verbal directions to drop the firearm, she raised the handgun at a particular point.
The woman did not comply with the officer’s directions, despite taking them into consideration. In an effort to protect themselves, a number of police enforcement officials opened fire on the woman, causing her to sustain personal injuries.
It was determined by the authorities that the woman is currently in serious condition and that she was transported to Shock Trauma, which is the area where she was brought. It was mentioned by Amal Awad, the Chief of Police for Anne Arundel County, that the crisis response team is currently present in order to offer aid and resources to the community during this time.
